What is AI agent infrastructure?

AI agent infrastructure is the underlying platform that lets a business build, run, and manage AI agents in production: the connections to communication channels (voice, SMS, email), to business systems and data, the workflow orchestration that strings actions together, and the controls that keep agents safe and observable.

Building a working demo of an agent is easy; running agents reliably across real customer volume is not. That gap is what infrastructure fills: channel integrations, a system of record the agent can read and write, orchestration and queuing, testing and simulation, permissions, logging, and analytics.

Teams generally face a choice: assemble these layers themselves from separate APIs, or adopt a platform that provides them as one system. The second path is usually faster to production because the hard, unglamorous parts are already built and battle-tested.

How Tether AI does this

Tether AI positions itself as exactly this layer: the infrastructure for AI employees that unifies call, text, and email, writes to your records, and runs multi-step workflows.
